Newspapers
While not
all of the events occurring in the Cave City area have
caused worldwide notice, many newsworthy events have taken
place in the community, and two newspapers have been
published in Cave City. The Cave City Progress was
first issued on March 15, 1935. Some of the advertisers in
that first edition were Economy Garage, Bill’s Radio Shop,
Earnest Craighead (representing Armour Creamery), Ace
Theater and Hill Brothers’ Garage. Conard C. Embry was the
first editor and business manager. The paper is still
published under the masthead of The Progress.
The Cave
City Herald preceded the Progress, its first edition
being printed on May 12, 1888, with T.T. Page as editor.
